A hunter jacket is a sleeveless, Nehru-style waistcoat with a stand collar and four patch or flap pockets – a Rajputana and safari look that has become a favourite for weddings and festive events. Davanchy's hunter jackets come in black cotton, teal blue tweed and custom-made formal versions.

How to style a hunter jacket

• Over a white or cream kurta for haldi, mehendi and puja.
• Over a band-collar shirt with Jodhpuri breeches for a royal look.
• With formal trousers for a smart Indo-western outfit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a hunter jacket and a Nehru jacket?

Both have a stand collar. A hunter jacket adds four utility pockets and a more structured safari cut, while a Nehru jacket is cleaner with fewer pockets. See our Nehru and Modi jackets.

Is a tweed hunter jacket good for winter weddings?

Yes. Tweed is warm and textured, so it works well for winter evening functions.

Is COD available?
